PROFESSIONAL DANCE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy (TDX) is considered to be the premier institute for learning international dance in the country.The philosophy of TDX has always been to help people find and build themselves and their dance in an environment of fun, love and values.Our focus is dance but we believe that building the individual is part of building the dancer and vice versa.
The PROFESSIONAL DANCE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM (PDCP) is a 4 year International module intensive course which helps young aspiring dancers develop a professional mind-set that helps them establish dance as a viable and sustainable career. PDCP is a highly technical program taught by National and International teachers and is created and mentored by Mr. Ashley Lobo.
About the Founder & Artistic Director :
Ashley Lobo is a well renowned International choreographer with over 30 years of experience. He has travelled extensively, choreographing for Ballet & Contemporary companies abroad. Founded by him in 2015, The Navdhara India Dance Theatre has travelled to, and performed to packed audiences in over 15 countries (USA, Germany, Turkey, China, Mexico, South Africa etc.) in a short span of time.
Over the last 20 years, The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy has had a rich heritage of students who have gone on to become principal dancers, choreographers & artistic directors of reputed dance companies all over the world. Through PDCP, we wish to discover the amazing potential that lies within our vast nation and give students the right training that will help them thrive anywhere in the world.

- Personality Development: PDCP looks at the overall development of the child, not just their progress in dance. Students learn self-discipline, time management & perseverance while learning to manage their academics along with this course. Through training with highly experienced & well-travelled teachers their young minds understand the professional mind set and dedication required to pursue dance as a serious career. Most often this focus helps students perform better academically as well & these values learnt in their youth, hold them in good stead throughout their lives irrespective of the vocations they choose to follow.
- Strong Foundation: Students learn the correct fundamentals & develop a strong foundation in dance at a young age, which will benefit them in the long run.
PROGRAM DETAILS
The program consists of 6 levels and is spread over a period of 4 years depending on the progress of each individual. At the end of each year there will be a showcase & evaluation with certification.
Foundation : Jazz Structure & Vocabulary, Interactive talk sessions
Foundation 1 : Training in Ballet & Jazz, Introduction to Modern, Funk & Street, Interactive talk sessions.
Level 1 : Training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical Jazz, Commercial Contemporary, Jazz Funk, Street & Body Conditioning. Special classes with Ashley Lobo. Interactive talk sessions.
Level 2 : Training with foreign faculty in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical Jazz, Commercial Contemporary, Jazz Funk, Street & Body Conditioning. Special classes with Ashley Lobo. Interactive talk sessions.
Level 3 : Training with foreign faculty in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Variations of Street styles like funk, house etc. Special classes with Ashley Lobo. Interactive talk sessions.
Students at this level will also be asked to choose between commercial and contemporary as a specialisation. Based on this, in addition to their regular classes they will receive training in their chosen specialisation, on one day in the week.
Contemporary : Styles like Modern, Improvisation, Artistic Contemporary.
Commercial : Styles like Jazz Funk, Jazz choreography, Hip-Hop, Street.
As part of their training, selected individuals will also assist in The Danceworx Academy classes & junior level classes.
Level 4 : Depending on the students personal aspirations and areas of interest, we tailor make a training schedule for them where they can choose to be part of the NIDT apprenticeship program or The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy Training, through which they experience different aspects of the life of a professional dancer.
CLASS SCHEDULES
- For PDCP Adults : 13 Years and above.
(Online & Hybrid options available.)- Foundation : 1 class of 1.5 hours per day, twice a week. (12 hrs a month)
- Foundation 1 : 2 classes per day of 1.5 hours each, twice a week.(24 hrs a month)
- Level 1 - Level 2 - Level 3 : 2 classes per day of 1.5 hours each, thrice a week. (36 hrs of intensive training per month.)
- Level 4 : Depending on the students personal aspirations and areas of interest, we tailor make a training schedule for them where they can choose to be part of the NIDT training program or The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy. This year gives the students first hand experience of the life of a professional dancer.
- For PDCP (Kids) : 5 to 12 Years
- Foundation : 1 class per day of 1 hour each, twice a week. (8 hrs a month)
- Foundation 1 : 1 class per day of 1.5 hrs each, thrice a week. ( 18 hrs a month)
- Level 1 : 2 classes per day of 1.5 hrs each, twice a week. ( 24 hrs a month)

The Danceworx vision and mission is to create awareness and bring REAL INTERNATIONAL dance to India. Through PDCP, we wish to formalize dance education and take Professional Dance in India to international levels.
